John O. Mitchell IV, Funeral Services of Dulaney Valley, P.A. is a licensed funeral establishment offering a full range of traditional funeral services, as well as cremation. While not an actual free standing funeral home, its operation is based at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

John O. Mitchell IV has been a licensed mortician since 1995, representing his family's sixth generation of funeral service in the Baltimore area. He and his father purchased Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in July of 2007. They also own and operate the Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home, Inc. which has been in business in Rodgers Forge since 1965.

Most traditional services handled by Mitchell Funeral Services of Dulaney Valley involve viewing in the cemetery's mausoleum chapel followed by a funeral service and burial in the cemetery or entombment in the mausoleum. The chapel holds roughly one hundred people. It is not a heated or air conditioned facility.

Cremation services are also available. Between the time of death and the actual cremation taking place, the deceased's remains will be held at Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home. The cremation itself takes place at Metro crematory. The cremated remains are then brought to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens for burial or returned to the family.

In all cases, all legal documents and permits will be processed. Certified copies of the death certificate will be produced and newspaper death notices placed. Assistance will be provided in arranging for any memorial or funeral services requested, whether taking place at the cemetery or at any churches in the surrounding area.

Merchandise needed in association with funeral, cremation, and burial services such as caskets, urns, or vaults, may be purchased directly from Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. A cemetery Family Service Advisor will provide assistance in making any purchases necessary.
